The one time I visited Burma, it was a whirlwind tour, but the boat ride along narrow waterways was a welcome break. At first, we were surprised to find the monks speeding along, waving and having just as good a time as we were. When I thought about it, in this environment, it was logical that they would get around via the water, just like everyone else - thus the title, "Burmese Commute".
